Turning Your System “Green”
Kona Pools might be the only company that actually wants to turn your pool “Green!” Owning an energy-efficient “green” pool and spa is easier than ever before and more affordable than you might think. Learn how to “go green”.
Filter
The filter is one part of the circulatory system of the pool. Its job is to catch and eliminate everything that is too small to be caught by the skimmer and pump baskets. Your filter does the important job of keeping your water crystal clear but more importantly does the job of filtering out small microscopic pathogens and bacteria. More than just a pretty pool, the filter helps keep a healthy and safe pool. Each filter varies in size and media. Let Kona help you determine if your filter needs a clean or is ready for new media.
Pump
The heart of your system, the ENERGY STAR certified variable-speed pool pumps we use can save you more than $1,000 over their lifetime, pay for themselves in five years, run quieter, and prolong the life of your pool’s filtration system. Variable-speed pumps can save up to 90% on energy consumption compared to single-speed pumps.
Heat Pump/ Heaters
Installing heaters and heat pumps with energy efficiency ratings help our pool owners keep the cost of heating their pools low. Meeting high standards, all of the heaters and heat pumps we install use technology that is cutting edge and offer options such as ultra-compact size, lightweight design, installation flexibility, and multiple energy sources.
Lighting
LED pool and spa lights operate with less than 50 watts of power to reduce energy expenses by up to 90% while providing more than 50,000 hours of lighting. These lights are ideal for replacing your old pool light that uses between 250-500 watts of energy. LED lights can still come in white but can also be upgraded to multi-color for a fun experience. Don’t stop there, set your light up with a new automation.
Automation
Automation systems provide complete management, with innovative technologies, to control your pool and spa features from anywhere. Modifying filtration runtimes, adjusting pump speeds, and managing water temperatures and lighting can now take place from your Smartphone, even when you’re not home or even overseas in Hawaii.
Salt and UV Systems
Both salt and UV systems are safer alternatives to the outdated method of adding chlorine and bleach to pools for sanitation. In an attempt to lower chemical usage and eliminate chlorine by-products, these sanitation methods have become more and more popular over the years. With their popularity, the price has gone down and the technology has gone way up. These alternatives are the future of pool sanitation.
